On the 500th Anniversary of the Beginning of the Reformation.
2017 is the 500th Anniversary of what is usually regarded as the start of the Reformation - Martin Luther's writing of the 95 Theses.
My reaction in 2017 is that I now hope that the Christian religion in its entirety reforms itself out of existence.
Were it not for the Protestant Reformation, there would not even be the possibility of this happening.
Issues around Christianity and also around religion in general are issues that have occupied me and exercised me a great deal. This is in many ways quite understandable. It is very much the religion of my family and - to a lesser extent - my culture and has been for hundreds if not thousands of years.
There is more to be said and I will write more when I get round to it.

It's a year later now - 2018.
And I must say I have changed my mind over the past year.
I still think the Christian faith may be in some way - perhaps in quite a limited way - the true religion.
To say that it needs reforming however is an understatement.
