"...you cannot serve two masters..."

"...you cannot serve two masters..."

The Roman Catholic The Society of Jesus ( whose motto is "AD MAJOREM DEI GLORIAM" - "to the greater glory of God") was founded in 1540 by Saint Ignatius to dedicate itself to Jesus and Christianity.

It was a direct response to the challenge to Roman Catholicism that had come from Saint Martin Luther.

A simple obvious point is -
If the Society of Jesus are all about Jesus and going back to his message, then why was it from its inception and still today fanatically devoted to the institution of the Papacy?

NON CAPISCO NON HO MAI CAPITO. I don't understand and I have never understood.

There is nothing in the New Testament about "fanatical devotion to the Papacy".

Having said that, the Papacy in terms of its role today is not as immoral as Anglicanism!
For the Pope is a cleric and - at least now - has very little political power!
Whereas the Queen is not a cleric and has political power.
What happened to "my Kingdom is not of this world"???
